Remembering Nate Singo

Posted Saturday, April 23, 2011 by Ed Dalton

I think I spent as much time with Nate Singo over a two year period as any athlete I have been associated with at Trinity Area.  The reason was simple Nate loved to train, and I mean loved to train.  A few years ago I thought I had him convinced to play football, but Nates true passion was lifting weights.  He would ask question, after question, try any technique, or new idea I could throw at him, and with great success, all one needed for proof of that was look at him.  But the reason I will miss Nate so much will be his everyday smile, his calm, and always pleasant personality, and most of all he was just a great young man to be around and associate with on a daily basis.
To his family God always has a plan, we just sometimes don't understand the plan right away, you have my deepest sympathy.  To his freinds keep Nate in your thoughts, and maybe accomplish a little more because you know he would have wanted you to be successful.  Below is the best poem I ever read for a situation like this with a young man who will be missed so much by everyone.

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. I am in the morning hush, I am in the graceful rush Of beautiful birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night. I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.
