IN SEASON TRAINING READ THESE OPTIONS

Posted Sunday, March 20, 2011 by Ed Dalton
I understand the demands on an in season athlete.  I also understand the importance of maintaining or growing your strength base in-season.  Our football program has the commitment to train two times per week in season.  I think it has been vital to our success and injury prevention.  All the preseason training without inseason training does not make since.  I have listed below two simple workouts I think any in season can maintain.  Pro athletes, college athletes are never out of season why should a high school athlete not take advantage of every day to get better.

YOU NEED TWO DAYS A WEEK CAN'T BE CONSECUTIVE DAYS

25 minutes workout
2 sets of 8 reps

day 1
towel bench
cleans

day 2
bench
front press

finish with a set of failure dips and chins and a bycycle/toe touch ab countdown

10 minute workout

both days
dips, chins, pushups, tricep pushups to failure no rest then two minute break and repeat,
finish with a set of bycycle/toe touch ab countdown to finish
