The Trinity seven
Ed Dalton's final football team at Trinity High School has already produced seven players committed to playing college football. The Hillers had 16 seniors on the roster.
On Signing Day last Wednesday, five Hillers made their college selections.
Kyle McWreath (Robert Morris), Ty Billie (Liberty) and J.D. George (St. Francis) all signed with Division I-AA schools. McWreath was an all-state linebacker as a senior, while Billie was a big-play receiver and George an all-conference offensive lineman.
Bob Steinstraw (Clarion) and Mike Cleveland (Slippery Rock) selected Division II programs from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Steinstraw led the Hillers in sacks and Cleveland in interceptions while being one of the WPIAL's elite kickers.
Matt Friewald (Grove City) and Chris Piatt (Westminster) recently decided to continue their playing careers in the Division III Presidents' Athletic Conference. Friewald was a key component of Trinity's secondary and Piatt became a valuable possession receiver.
