Lady Cats Earn 72-70 Win at Davis & Elkins
11/17/10...Andrea Dalton (Washington, Pa.) scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help the Lady Cats build a 12-point second half led, before holding on for a 72-70 win at WVIAC rival Davis & Elkins (WV) College, Wednesday evening.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Davis & Elkins held a 37-34 halftime advantage, but the Lady Cats came out in the second half and quickly erased the deficit.  Pitt-Johnstown regained the lead early in the half and extended it to 12 points, before the Senators made a late run to cut it to two on Shalisa Hill's basket with :12 remaining.  Davis & Elkins then forced a turnover and had the final possession of the game, but Hill's shot at the buzzer came up short and Pitt-Johnstown was able to hold on for its second straight two-point victory.
Dalton paced four Lady Cats who scored in double-figures with 22 points and eight rebounds.  Sheena Aden (Sandy Lake, Pa.) had 18 points, four rebounds and three assists, while Kayla Loughner (Brinklow, MD) and Kelly Goode (Cincinnati, OH) each scored 12 points.  Loughner also grabbed six rebounds, and Rachel Johnson (Palmyra, Pa.) chipped in six points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Pitt-Johnstown ended the night shooting 52% (30-58) from the field.  The Lady Cats also connected on 11 three-pointers and held a 36-32 advantage in rebounding.  Davis & Elkins shot 49% (29-59) from the floor and 6-13 from behind the three-point line.
Hill had a game-high 26 points and seven rebounds, and Amy Turner added 15 points to lead Davis & Elkins, which fell to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats continue a stretch of five straight road games at the Regis (CO) University Tournament on November 26-27.  Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home game on December 8 when Slippery Rock University visits the Sports Center for a non-conference game at 5:30 p.m
