My football coaching mentor died today

Michael Ivan "Mina George" died today kind of the way he we lived of a heart attack. Mina gave me the opportunity at 21 years old to coach highschool football at Cathedral Prep in Erie. I was the head ninth grade coach and I think I was paid $150 dollars in 1980 in two $75 installments. What I receivied was so much more than money could buy a football education. Mina was an intense football fundemental coach who had great success everywhere he coached. Our first staff that he put together at Prep almost every coach wound up a head coach later in their careers. When you coached football you coached football eighteen hours a day and he got us all to do it and love it. I can't bleieve he is gone I will miss that man deeply. The football world in Pennsylvania just got a little worse today. My deepest sympathy to his family the loss of Coach George will be felt for a long time!
