Cody Endres, a graduate of Trinity High School, might be the starting quarterback for the University of Connecticut when the Huskies play Cincinnati Saturday.
Zach Frazer was injured in a loss to Rutgers last weekend and head coach Randy Edsall said Frazer suffered a head injury.
Frazer became Connecticut's starter when Tyler Lorenzen broke his foot in a Sept. 26 game against Louisville.
Endres has played against Hofstra and Virginia, completing four of five passes for 49 yards.
"He's been good. He's been working every day because they all know whn Zach was in there, (Endres) was one play away from going in, and he's done well," Edsall told the Hartford Courant Wednesday. "He's a guy who can throw the ball well. He just doesn't have a whole lot of experience."
Lorenzen is expected back for the Nov. 23 game at South Florida.
